The Much Anticipated Harvest Has Finally Begun!
What an adrenalin rush was felt throughout the farmstead. There was numerous hoots, hollers, yipes, and yeahs; wonderful shouts of excitement because WE ARE FINALLY IN THE FIELD harvesting corn. I have been waiting 1 month, 19 days and 11 hours and 23 minutes to say that. Golly that felt exhilarating! Any who, the FB's (Farm Boy's) are back to their no holds bar routines. AKA no play and all work! These guys sure are on a mission, they have over 100 acres to cover before the first snow. So we all need to get our booty's in gear to get this years crop out of the field on time.
The picture above is a combine and a tractor "dumping on the go" (this is when both machines are continually moving and the combine is dumping corn into the grain cart). I am driving the tractor pulling the grain cart and HH is maneuvering the combine. *Chuckle* *Cackle* *Snort* *Giggle* Excuse me, sorry for that little on screen outburst. Actually Cowboy Rob is behind the wheel of the tractor pulling the grain cart. Cowboy Rob comes to the farmstead every fall to help us harvest all of the crops. He is one of the best motorists around, very skilled! And apparently HH thinks he can drive the tractor better then me. Which I really don't mind, I would rather go and get a pedicure any, and I really do think that HH understands that. Maybe?
Sincerely,
Farming Fabulously
